NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh government announced on Saturday that the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 has been cancelled. In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that orders have been issued to re-conduct the UP Police recruitment examination within the next six months.
Emphasising on maintaining the sanctity of examinations he said that strictest action will be taken against unruly elements.His tweet (originally in Hindi) states, ” Orders have been given to cancel the examination-2023 conducted for selection to the posts of Civil Police Reserve and to conduct re-examination within the next 06 months.”
The UP Police Constable Exam 2024 was conducted on February 17 and February 18, 2024.
Adding further he said “There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations.
Those who play with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements.”

According to media reports, in the past three days, Uttar Pradesh police have arrested or detained a total of more than 240 individuals suspected of employing or plotting to employ unfair methods during the police constable recruitment exam. The state police headquarters confirmed the actions that took place between February 15 and February 18. These arrests and detentions were carried out by both district police and Special Task Force (STF) units, with assistance from local intelligence.
