2 killed, 4 injured in 3-vehicle collision in Canoga Park – Daily News

A man and a woman were killed and four other people injured in a three-vehicle collision in Canoga Park early Sunday morning, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

Of the four injured, two were hospitalized in critical condition. Two others with minor injuries declined further treatment, fire spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

The collision was reported at 12:45 a.m. on the 7600 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

KTLA reported that LAPD said speed was a factor in the crash, and that three of the vehicles were moving while one was parked on Topanga Canyon at the time.

“The driver of an older model Honda Civic that had been traveling southbound and for some unknown reason crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Camry,” Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Rich Brunson said, according to KTLA.

“The impact between those two vehicles caused the Honda Civic to rotate, at which time the driver was ejected and his front right passenger was killed,” Brunson said.

Several lanes were closed near the intersection of Topanga Canyon and Saticoy Street while the investigation continued.

The 7600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard was reopened by 7 a.m.
