Steve Komphela believes his former club Moroka Swallows may have registered a player incorrectly.
Burkina Faso’s Roland Sanou featured for the Dube Birds when they went down 1-0 to Polokwane City however Komphela implied the player was improperly registered.
Komphela confirmed his departure from the Dube Birds last Monday after just seven months at the helm.
Speaking on the issue of Sanou, the ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach there was a mistake when it came to the registration of the player
“There’s a boy we had from Cape Town City, he’s from Burkina Faso. Eric (Tinkler) spoke to me about him. He said, ‘Steve, there’s a midfielder here, I wanted us to take (Brice) Ambina abroad.’ The Ambina deal had some issues and all that, I don’t even want to go any further because then it talks Cape Town City, so there was an issue with Ambina. And I said, ‘Eric, it’s fine, let him come’,” Komphela told Robert Marawa on MSW.
“I told the chairman that we need to be smart here because we are going to train and develop this player, so have an agreement with the chairman at Cape Town City. But be guaranteed after a year’s training here at Moroka Swallows, this player is going to be different.

“And then we agree and he comes to us on loan. We ask Elasto (Kapowezha) to sign and register him as a foreigner. We played all the matches up until the 19 points, we couldn’t,” Komphela added as per Goal.com.
“Listen to what happens, then I asked Elasto if he managed to register him because it had been postponed and postponed. He said he had tried to do it but there was a mistake that occurred.
‘Things I saw at Swallows, I have not seen anywhere’ – Komphela
” I asked what mistake and he said the letterhead when they registered him was still at Swallows FC. Listen, that player, since the beginning of the season, the first round is finished, he had not been registered because he had been improperly registered under Swallows by a guy who knows exactly who did this at Moroka Swallows and not Swallows FC,” Komphela added.
