CGBSE to conduct Chhattisgarh class 10, 12 board exam twice a year |

NEW DELHI: The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), Raipur, has proposed conducting board exams for both 10th and 12th classes twice annually, according to a PTI report. This decision follows extensive consultations with the state government. However, the implementation of this new exam pattern has not been confirmed yet, pending a final decision by the board.
The CGBSE issued this directive after thorough consultations with the state government. However, the department has yet to announce whether the alteration in the board examination format will come into effect from the upcoming academic year or the subsequent one. A decision on this matter is pending.
According to the official guidelines, the initial examination will take place in March, with the second examination scheduled for June-July. However, only students enrolled in the initial examination will be permitted to submit an application for the second examination, although requests for subject changes will not be entertained.
Students who have failed in all subjects, received supplementary exams, or were absent, as well as those seeking to enhance their grades in all subjects, will be eligible to participate in the second examination. Those who have passed all subjects will be allowed to apply for marks improvement in one or more subjects during the second examination.
Previously, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that students will be able to take Class 10 and Class 12 board exams twice a year beginning in the academic year 2025-26. This announcement was made at the launch of the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme in Chhattisgarh, which aims to upgrade 211 schools in the state.
