Telangana government has invited applications for overseas scholarships for students falling in the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. Students with family income below 5 lakhs per annum and who meet the eligibility criteria can apply on the official website, telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in, till the last date of March 31.
The scholarship is available for students who have been accepted by educational institutions in the following list of countries: USA, Canada, Germany, France, the UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
The scholarship includes a grant of up to Rs 20 lakhs or as per admission letter, whichever is lower, along with one-way economy airfare and visa charges. Only one child per family is eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be under 35 years of age and have secured a minimum of 60% in graduation. They are also required to have a qualifying score in GRE (280 marks) or GMAT (550 marks), as well as English proficiency tests such as TOEFL (60 marks) and IELTS (6 grade). Students applying for the scholarship should have secured 60% marks or equivalent grade in foundation degree programs. For PhD applicants, a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in postgraduate courses in engineering, management, sciences, agriculture sciences, medicine, social sciences, and humanities is required.
