Lutz Huelle Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Runway, Fashion Show & Collection Review

Talk about giving back and fostering a creative community. Lutz Huelle, a serial collaborator with AZ Factory, was able to return to the runway this season after a four-year hiatus as the Richemont-backed label handed its time slot on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar to Huelle.

“It’s always stressful to do a show. I hadn’t done one for a while, but I feel like it’s the first one of many to come,” Huelle said backstage at the American Cathedral on George V.

The German designer proposed new compositions of his favorite elements such as reworked denim, puff shoulders, pleats, sequins, gold lamé and bomber jackets for a wardrobe that enables seamless transition from day to night with tasteful and subtle deconstructed details.

There was a big focus on outerwear as well. Cue the trenchcoat-pleated dress hybrids, wool coats with quilted sleeves and new iterations of the smoking jacket meets baby-doll dress.

Lace was a fun addition. He put it on top of pencil skirts and wide-leg pants, and at the bottom of shirtings. When the two meet, it created a corset, belt-like effects.

“I like putting things together in a different way, making new connections between things,” Huelle mused.
