Result REVEALED! Fan favourite scores brace for Kaizer Chiefs against Tuks!

The DStv Premiership is set to return to action this weekend, with Kaizer Chiefs in action.

Chiefs will travel to the Athlone Stadium to play Cape Town City as local football returns from the international break.

This will be the first time Chiefs play in a competitive match, since their 3-2 Soweto derby loss. Because they had been knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by MFC side Milford, they went on a long break. By the time Amakhosi take to the field against City, it would’ve been 21 days since their loss against Orlando Pirates

Chiefs have played at least one friendly match, in that time, against Nedbank Cup quarterfinalists AmaTuks last week. According to KickOff.com hosts Tuks took a 2-0 lead against Amakhosi in Friday’s friendly. But the more illustrious visitors were able to salvage a draw and it was through fan favourite Mduduzi Shabalala. The player has hardly featured for the club this season, and when he has, he has failed to have a similar impact to his debut season. But those goals will undoubtedly lift up his confidence ahead of the last part of the season.

Other interesting take aways from the game, besides Shabalala were the player selections. Judging from the pictures released by Tuks, Chiefs featured the likes of Sifiso Hlanti, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Samkelo Zwane. Forgotten midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe was also pictured in action as he looks to fight for his future at the club. Also in action were Christian Saile, Jassond Gonzales, Brendon Petersen and Zitha Kwinika

Perhaps the biggest glaring absence was that of centre back and latest signing Luke Fleurs. The former SuperSport United centre back was recently on the bench against Golden Arrows. It then comes as a surprise that he can’t feature even in a friendly for Chiefs. That could fuel the speculation that he is already out of the club.

Kick off for the game between City and Chiefs is set for 15h30 on Saturday.
