The chase for a Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates transfer target has now become a three-way race.
Pirates were thought to be close to be wrapping up a new signing ahead of the new season.
It has been no secret that Pirates have been interested in Shaune Mogaila, a long-term target now available for free. The speedy winger recently parted ways with former club Royal AM. It is reported the split came after the two parties could not agree on a improved terms for a new deal. Waiting on the wings, is believed to Pirates, who are club wanted the player even before he joined the Durbanites.
SuperSport in the lead for Mogaila
This publication reported just that Pirates and Mogaila were close to an agreement for next season. But in football, it doesn’t take long for things to change with the latest update possibly making the Buccaneers nervous. Firstly a later update from this publication revealed that Norwegian giants Valengra are serious about signing the player. But that is not all. It has since been revealed that arch rivals Chiefs are also interested in the player. If that was not enough, it was reported last week, that SuperSport United have since joined the fray.
Earlier in this week, this publication reported that SuperSport have already open talks to sign Mogaila. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Pirates are still in the picture and their interest is distracting the player.
Pirates not giving up
“It’s not a secret that Pirates have also been monitoring the player (Mogaila) and that could derail the move for SuperSport, as you know most players want to play for the so-called big teams in South Africa. But a move to SuperSport United is on the cards for the player as things stand now,”
Will either Chiefs or Pirates also open talks? Or are they already in talks to sign Mogaila ahead of SuperSport? Only time will tell.
