Perth influencer Em Davies has had a terrifying health scare after taking a common painkiller.
The mum-to-be shared the ordeal to her Instagram story on Wednesday that she had an intense allergic reaction after taking Panadeine Forte to treat the pain of a pinched nerve in her neck which left her “paralysed”.
The medication contains paracetamol and codeine and is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
“So turns out I’m allergic to Panadeine Forte,” she wrote on a picture of her laying in a hospital bed.
In another story, she wrote: “Ty for all your messages bbys I’m fine and so is bby girl.”
“Had an intense allergic reaction to the codeine in Panadeine Forte which I took for my neck today and basically couldn’t breathe.
“Was quite scary but I’m fine now and they did an ultra sound on bub and she’s perfectly fine also.
“This week has been a god damn roller coaster lmao,” she said.
On Tuesday the 29-year-old revealed to social media she had “pinched a nerve” in her neck and felt “paralysed”, calling on her followers for advice.
“I can’t take Nurofen because I’m pregnant. I’ve got a heat pack and Panadol but that’s about it,” she added.
The Perth local later shared a photo lying down with an ice pack on her neck and revealed she had booked in to see a physiotherapist.
Just two months ago, Davies shared the exciting news she was having a baby with fiance Joel Gambin in an adorable Instagram post.
“The universe said we had a plan 👼🏼🍼 baby gambin en route 🤍happy anniversary to us,” the caption read as Gambin cradled her stomach.
Her friends and followers shared their excitement in the comments.
