FACEBOOK users have complained that they are unable to see posts on their timeline and on other users’ walls, including their own.
The page simply shows “no posts available” on both desktop and mobile app versions of the social media site.
Why can’t I see my Facebook posts?
It’s not yet clear why users can’t see Facebook posts.
People appear to still be receiving notifications, but the majority of posts on most pages have vanished.
It is quite a new issue, with reports spiking in the low hundreds on outage site Downdetector at around 7:00am BST on 16 April.
Despite the number of people impacted, Facebook has yet to make a statement.
Meta – Facebook’s parent company – has also made no changes to the platform’s server status.
This suggests it is not a planned outage and is a glitch waiting to be fixed.
What other issues is Facebook experiencing?
Besides the global, Meta outages that wiped out Facebook and Instagram in early March and early April, there have been few widespread issues.
Some users on Downdetector have complained about app crashes, faulty messenger group chats, and an inability to approve or decline member requests for Facebook groups.
But these appear to be largely isolated incidences.
How do I fix it?
Some users have said that the issue resolved itself once they updated their Facebook app.
But it’s unclear if this works for everyone – particularly desktop users.
What are people saying about the issue?
Users have flocked to social media sites Reddit and Twitter to complain about the issue this morning.
“I just posted a new album on Facebook, and went to look at my page and everything is gone,” one user wrote on Reddit.
“However I’m getting notifications that people are liking my post, so it’s showing up in their newsfeeds, I just can’t see it on my own.
“I’ve tried looking at other people’s pages too, and for about 75 per cent of them I can’t see anything either, but for 25 per cent I can see everything. Is anyone else noticing this issue?
“My newsfeed appears unharmed, but clicking on most people’s profiles results in a message saying “no posts available.”
Another user replied, saying: “My activity log shows no signs, of things being deleted. I’m hoping this is just a technical glitch.”
A third person wrote: “”No posts available” on some friends pages while other pages load fine.”
The Sun has contacted Meta for comment.
