Why has CUET UG Exam 2024 at Delhi centres been postponed for today?

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday postponed the CUET UG exam 2024 at Delhi centres scheduled for today, May 15. According to the revised date, the same will be now conducted on May 29. However, the exams scheduled for May 16, 17 and 18 in Delhi will proceed as per the original schedule.
Furthermore, exams across the rest of the country, including those set to be held today, will also take place according to the existing schedule.
“It is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Chemistry -306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were earlier scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in Centres across Delhi only. The examination will now be held on 29 of May 2024. The revised Admit Cards will be issued for candidates appearing in center across Delhi,” reads the official notification.
Why has been CUET exam deferred in Delhi for today?
The rescheduling in Delhi was necessary due to a high number of aspirants, inadequate infrastructure availability, and the requisitioning of invigilators for ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha Election duties.
