Federal investigators are preparing to bring the accusers of Sean “Diddy” Combs before a federal grand jury in New York City, according to a report.
Plaintiffs who filed civil lawsuits against Combs have been notified by investigators that they could be brought in to testify before the grand jury, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.
Two sources confirmed to the outlet that federal prosecutors are working on preparing for the case to be presented to a grand jury.
The move would signal a major escalation in the feds’ ongoing investigation into the Bad Boy Records mogul.
Combs has been named named in eight civil suits since November — including seven directly accusing him of sexual assault.
One of the lawsuits, filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, was settled just one day after filing.
Another of the lawsuits accused Combs’ son Christian of sexual assault, and Combs of aiding and abetting.
The potential witnesses have not yet been prepped, as investigators are still gathering evidence and questioning potential sources, the insiders told CNN.
The feds are taking their time to ensure the case against Combs is “bulletproof,” one source noted.
A spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations declined to comment to the outlet on plans for a grand jury, but said the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities raided Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March.
At the time, sources indicated that the rapper was the subject of a federal probe related to sex trafficking, money laundering and illegal drugs, CNN noted.
“It’s much bigger than just these lawsuits,” one of the sources familiar with the investigation said.
Federal agents are in possession of video taken inside Combs’ residences, though it was unclear if the footage was seized during the raids or was obtained during questioning, a source told the outlet.
“They are contacting people that they’ve found on the tapes,” a source told CNN.

The feds are “digging deeper” and some accusers have been questioned multiple times, a source added.
The accusers have been cooperating with investigators, including turning over any evidence they believe may be helpful.
Investigators are also bringing in new people for questioning, including corroborating witnesses for the accusers, the sources said.
At least one male sex worker — who claims he was abused by Combs — has been questioned, one source told the outlet.
This person was seen on the footage that is in the possession of the federal investigators, the source added.
In some of the lawsuits against Combs, the accused claimed that they learned after the fact that they had been recorded having sex without their consent.
Combs has also been accused of drugging multiple women, including former fashion student April Lampros and former model Crystal McKinney.
In Lampros’ suit, which was filed last week, she alleged that Combs forced her to take ecstasy and insisted that she have sex with one of his former girlfriends before raping her, CNN explained.
In a lawsuit filed in November, Combs was also accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Joi Dickerson-Neal in 1991.
Dickerson-Neal also accused Combs of “revenge porn,” alleging that he secretly recorded the assault and showed it to a male friend of hers.
Combs has vehemently denied the allegations against him. In December, following the first flurry of lawsuits against him, the music mogul accused the plaintiffs of “looking for a quick pay day.”
“Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged,” he wrote on social media at the time.
