A WOMAN has been left fighting for her life after a horror crash between a BMW motor and a mobility scooter.
The incident happened on Friday afternoon on Waggon Road in Ayr, near to the junction with Peebles Street.
The alarm was raised at around 2.15pm after cops received a report of a two-vehicle smash involving a blue mobility scooter and a blue BMW 5 series car.
The 65-year-old woman on the mobility scooter was rushed to Crosshouse hospital in Kilmarnock after the incident.
Her condition is described as critical.
The BMW driver was not injured in the crash.
Road policing officers are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstance and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“We are also asking people to check their dash-cam and private CCTV to see if they have captured anything that could help with our investigation.
