GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS has taken MLS by storm since swapping Celtic for Atlanta United.
But we was upstaged last night by a former Hoops pal!
Giakoumakis, 29, left Celtic in February last year to join Atlanta.
And the Greece international has been a huge in the United States and netted 20 goals last season.
He score five times in his first three matches this season but now finds himself on a bit of a barren run having gone seven games without a goal.
That could have something to do with the major transfer interest.
Mexican giants Cruz Azul have reportedly offered a huge £7.85million to try and prise him away from Atlanta.
For now, he remains with the Georgia-based club and started last night’s MLS clash with Charlotte FC.
And it was a match that saw Giakoumakis go head-to-head with a very familiar face.
Liel Abada was on the opposition side.
The Israeli winger left Parkhead in March and last night’s clash with Atlanta turned out to be his finest moment yet in the USA.
Thiago Almada gave Atlanta the lead before a Derrick Williams own goal levelled things up at 1-1 before half-time.
Then, it was Abada’s time to shine.
The 22-year old struck twice – in the 56th and 68th minutes – to give Charlotte a 3-1 lead.
Xande Silva hit back for Atlanta late on, while Giakoumakis was introduced as a substitute.
But there was to be no equaliser and Abada’s second goal turned out to be the winner.
After the game, the two former Parkhead stars reunited on the pitch and swapped shirts.
Abada shared the picture to his Instagram stories and said: “Good to see you my bro ❤️”
Giakoumakis, despite seeing his team downed by Abada’s goals, re-shared the image and said: “My little brother ☘️”
Abada had plenty to celebrate off the park last week too.
That’s because he got engaged to long term girlfriend Bar Rashti.
