THE former lover of a fiend who helped hide and dump a murder victim’s body told how he hopes his “evil” ex dies in jail.
Allan White, 34, blasted the “pathetic” five-and-a-half-year sentence handed to monster Paul McNaughton’s accomplice Paul Black, 65 — who he wished would “rot in hell”.
He told of his shock on learning the body of Dr Peter Coshan, 75, was stashed under a bed in the flat he once shared with Black in Leith, Edinburgh — before being dumped at a remote lay-by in Northumberland.
McNaughton, 29, faces decades behind bars but a jury cleared Black of murder and convicted him of a bid to defeat the ends of justice.
Allan, who met Black when he was known as Joe Hillary, said: “He should have got a life sentence. Joe was in the house when it happened. He should rot in hell.
“When the cops went to the door looking for Dr Coshan, his body was under the bed — and Joe knew it.
“He told them a load of lies. Then he helped McNaughton transport the body. I hope he dies in prison because he is an evil, evil man.”
Allan, of Kirkcaldy, revealed he was homeless when Black offered him a place to stay after they met in the capital’s Planet Bar.
They later began a relationship but Black started drinking heavily and became “aggressive and abusive”.
Allan recalled: “It was frightening. He could snap over absolutely nothing.

“One time I phoned the police after he grabbed me by the throat.
“I’m lucky that I had the strength to fight him off.”
He cut ties with the creep but years later he was contacted by cops probing former Fettes College lecturer Dr Coshan’s August 2022 disappearance.
Allan said: “They kept asking me if we ever went on holiday. I think that was them trying to find Peter’s body.”
We told how Dr Coshan had paid sex worker McNaughton for intimate acts. After he stopped giving him cash, the fiend used a fake dating app profile to lure the OAP to his death.
He pled guilty to murder and was caged for 22 years last Monday.
