Vogue’s Global Senior Marketing Manager, Kelsey Hendershot, won’t be caught this summer without a captivating novel in hand—and a chic (but practical!) bag to carry it.
What’s your essential summer purchase—and why do you love it?
A good book—or five. Whether I’m lounging by the water or passing time on a flight, a captivating novel is a must. Stories transport me, making every moment feel like a mini escape, no matter where I am. Currently, I’m diving into My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante and Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Dr. Julie Smith.
What’s a beauty product that everybody should get their hands on—and why?
As a Texan, I know far too well how intense the summer heat can be. Even here in New York City, it’s practically unbearable at times. That’s why nothing beats starting my day with a five-minute ice-cold facial rolling session—something which helps me de-puff while also sculpting. This roller is a game-changer: It’s compact enough to fit in my purse—and stays cool even if I forget to pop it in the freezer—and the V-shape is ideal for contouring cheekbones and jawlines.
What’s a place you love to visit—and how do you spend your time there?
Steamboat Springs, Colorado will always hold a special place in my heart. My childhood summers were spent hiking its trails and paddleboarding on the serene waters. Now I find solace there retreating from the city’s bustle and relishing in the slower rhythm of life while savoring fresh produce from the local farmers market and unwinding with a good book (see above) by the lake.
