Former Skeem Saam actress Makoma Mohale expresses her gratitude for landing the character of Queen Modjadji.
MAKOMA MOHALE: ‘IT HAS BEEN AN HONOUR’
The Scandal! actress Makoma Mohale took to Instagram to thank the producers of Queen Modjadji for giving her the opportunity to play the Rain Queen.
She took to social media to gush about how her character took over her body, mind and spirit.
“It has been a great honour getting to play an icon such as yourself — a dream come true. You gave me chills, goose bumps and butterflies all at the same time. I grasped, learnt and made a lifetime memory. This is not a goodbye but a thank you,” said Mohale.
She also thanks the crew and all the departments that worked together with her on set.
Mohale headlined Mzansi Magic’s historical drama series as the Rain Queen Maselekwani.
Her character was a young queen-in-waiting who brings about a golden age of peace and prosperity to the land.
‘QUEEN MODJADJI’ ENDS
Entertainment commentator Jabu McDonald reveals that Queen Modjadji ended on Sunday, 29 September.
Mzansi Magic fans took to McDonald’s post to celebrate the ending of the series as the storyline was a disappointment.
The show also saw the biggest decline in viewership in August when it received 584 264 viewers in July and dropped to 409k viewers in August, according to TVSA July and BRCSA’s August figures.
The show also failed to make the top 30 most-watched shows of the month.
Queen Modjadji tells the story of the Rain Queen, the ruling monarch for the Balobedu people in Limpopo, and her ancestors.
The show stars Wiseman Zitha, Putla Sehlapelo, Sipho Ndlovu and more stars.
Other cast members include Helen Lebepe as Raisibe, Ngelekanyo Ramulodi, who portrays Young Queen Modjadji.
It also stars beauty queens Shudu Musida and Ndavi Nokeri, who hail from the Limpopo province play queens in the drama series.
