The Perth Guitar Quartet is righting an astonishing wrong with the release of new album West Australian Landscapes, and it has taken American-born Australian classical guitarist Dr Jonathan Fitzgerald, in part, to do it.
“It’s interesting because the Australian guitar canon, sort of the repertoire that’s out there for classical guitar, is really heavily inspired by landscape and the natural world and sort of a connection to place,” the Perth Guitar Quartet musician, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, explains.
