The limited production Aston Martin V12 Vantage is considered to be the ultimate variant of the British sportscar but one of the 333 owners felt they needed something more in terms of the chassis setup. For this reason, he visited KW Swiss in Fichtenberg, asking for a lowered suspension.
Instead of using coilovers, the suspension specialists developed new height-adjustable springs which were custom-made for the special Aston Martin. The conversion started with the removal of the factory-spec springs, before adding bump stops (elastomer springs) which allow the “maximum possible lowering”. As a result, the already low V12 Vantage comes even closer to the ground by 0-30 mm (1.2 inches) at the front and by 5-25 mm (0.2-1 inches) at the rear, depending on the preferences of the owner.
The springs were painted in a striking “Lime Essence” color, looking similar to the exterior shade and brake calipers of the rare Aston Martin.

As a reminder, the swan song of the Vantage comes fitted with a 5.2-liter V12 engine producing 690 hp (515 kW / 700 PS) and 555 lb-ft (753 Nm) of torque. Besides the larger powertrain and the unique bodykit, the special edition came with a more aggressive chassis setup including stiffer suspension. Without getting into much detail, KW suggests that their aftermarket spring kit works with the stock adaptive dampers for improving handling in all driving modes (including Sport, Sport+, and Track).
The entire 333-unit limited production run of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage has been sold out, but KW advertises its suspension upgrade hoping to attract other existing owners – or maybe the 249 owners of the V12 Vantage Roadster. While tuning rare special editions is not a commodity, KW has done it before in an emphatic manner, when it upgraded the coilovers of Nick Heidfeld’s Porsche Carrera GT known as one of the best analog supercars.
