Terrifying video shows man being bitten and pulled into water by shark at Everglades National Park

The terrifying moment an unsuspecting fisherman was bitten by a shark and pulled into murky water has been captured on video.

The man, who was out on a boat with friends at Everglades National Park in the US state of Florida on Friday, had just released a fish and was washing his hands when the animal latched on.

He had dipped his hands into the murky water for just seconds when the shark appeared and pulled him overboard.

The fisherman cries out in pain as he falls into the water, leaving a bloodied handprint on the side of the boat before his quick-thinking friends jump into action.

The group can be heard frantically screaming, “get him, get him”, as they rush to help him back onto the boat.

Authorities told local media the victim was treated by park rangers before he was flown to a nearby hospital.

It is unclear how serious the hand injury is, WPLG Local10 News reports.

Sharks such as bull sharks can be found living in the Everglades freshwater; however, the National Park Service says officials are unsure of the species of the shark involved in the attack.
