It’s hard to predict how celebrity couples will tie the knot these days. Some will go the private, hush-hush route like Kate Bosworth and Justin Long. Others may choose to be more forthcoming like Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge’s multi-day, Chanel-filled extravaganza in the South of France. Or perhaps they may want something more exhilarating a la Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage’s whirlwind Vegas ceremony officiated by Kim Kardashian. No matter the manner (or if they even make their marriage public knowledge), continue to check back here for every celebrity wedding in 2023.
Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin
Dylan Sprouse, 30, and Barbara Palvin, 29, tied the knot in the model’s native Hungary just one month after publicly confirming their engagement (which, as it turned out, happened almost a year prior). The couple have not announced their marriage, but local outlets obtained photos of the couples’ big day.
Palvin was seen wearing a corseted white gown, veil, and choker necklace while Sprouse looked dapper in a traditional black. The groom’s brother, Cole, was also in attendance, presumably as his best man.
The model and actor couple first met back in 2018 and got engaged in 2022. “She followed me, so I was like, I guess I’ll give her something. And I slid into her DMs,” Sprouse said. “I was like, ‘Hey, I don’t know if you’re in New York for very long, but we should hang out if you want to. Here’s my number.’ And she didn’t message me for six months.”
The couple spent the early stages of their relationship in the Big Apple before relocating to Los Angeles. They’ve also visited Hungary multiple times (Palvin was born in the capital, Budapest). “I wasn’t nervous to meet her parents, but the truth is that there is a language barrier, obviously,” Sprouse noted. “Her mother speaks a very tiny bit [of English], and I am not proficient in Hungarian. I’m trying, but learning is definitely an overstatement.”
Stephanie Shepherd and Larry Jackson
Stephanie Shepherd, the former assistant of Kim Kardashian turned entrepreneur, wed Larry Jackson in a star-studded ceremony in Beverly Hills, California. Jackson is a music executive and the former Global Creative Director at Apple Music.
The night featured a host of A-list attendees including Kim, Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Naomi Campbell, Alicia Keys, among others. Rapper Timbaland and Keys’ husband Swizz Beatz got up on stage to perform during the after party.
There was also plenty of fashion at the event. Hailey Bieber opted for a light blue backless cutout dress. Kris Jenner wore Balenciaga and Kim went with a daring cut-out skirt and skimpy bandeau.
Shepherd was Kim’s assistant from 2013 and 2017 and was the COO of Kardashian West Brands. The 33-year-old was dropped from the brand in 2018, which caused a falling out between the pair. But, clearly they have since reconciled.
Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola
Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony at Anderson Canyon in the Big Sur region of California, per TMZ. The pair, who first met in 2015, got engaged last year and had been dating for two years prior.
Wedding guests included a range of big names—Brooke Shields, Billy Crudup, Paul Ruud, Tina Fey, among others. The seaside setting held a special meaning for the newlyweds. It was the sight of the final Mad Men episode and the place where they first met eight years prior. Fittingly, there were also Mad Men-themed cocktails.
"This is another place in my life that I feel very settled and comfortable. I’m in a relationship right now and it’s comfortable," Hamm said in a 2022 interview. "I started really thinking about all that stuff, that’s made the relationship that I’m in now even more meaningful and opened up the possibility of things like being married, having kids, defining a new version of happiness, life, wellness."
Taylor Hill and Daniel Fryer
Model Taylor Hill married venture capitalist Daniel Fryer in Winter Park, Colorado during a ceremony with family and close friends. Hill and Fryer met in Aspen, Colorado in 2019 and began dating shortly after. The couple got engaged in Positano, Italy in 2021.
“As much as I travel for work—I have literally been [going] non-stop since the age of 14—Colorado has always been my constant, my rock, my home, and my heart,” Hill told Vogue. “I wanted to share this once-in-a-lifetime moment with all our loved ones in my constant, favorite place: Winter Park, Colorado.”
The wedding festivities ran through the weekend with a series of activities and Western-inspired decor. Hill wore sparkling David Yurman jewels and an off-the-shoulder Etro dress for the ceremony, the first custom gown that the brand had ever designed.
“Etro literally took everything that was in my brain and transformed it into reality,” Hill said. “The gown is truly the dress of my dreams. It is elegant, but gives a nod to boho with its stunning material, movement, and beading.”
Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup
Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup tied the knot after six years of dating. The pair, who reportedly got engaged in April, started seeing eachother in 2017 after appearing together in the Netflix series Gypsy.
“Hitched!” the 54-year-old actress captioned a photo of the couple on Instagram. Crudup wore a traditional suit while Watts stunned in a floral Oscar de la Renta gown for the low key courthouse ceremony. She later said in an Instagram story that she got her bouquet “from the deli.”
Watts shares two children, Sasha and Kai, with her ex-husband Liev Scheiber. Crudup also has a 19-year-old son William who he shares with Mary Louise Parker. Though Watts and Crudup first met as friends back in 2009 and started in dating 2017, they’ve kept much of their private life to themselves.
“I try to make it a point of not commenting publicly one way or the other about my personal life,” Crudup said in 2018. "I don’t particularly see the advantage of people knowing too much about me if I’m constantly trying to trick them into thinking I’m someone else."
Beanie Feldstein and Bonnie Chance
Actress Beanie Feldstein and producer Bonnie Chance got married in late May at the Cedar Lakes Estate in Hudson Valley, New York. The pair originally met in 2018 at Dean Street Townhouse in London.
“Bon had been developing Caitlin Moran’s book How to Build a Girl into a movie for over five years when they finally started the casting process for Caitlin’s fictional proxy, Johanna, a 16-year-old girl from Wolverhampton, England,” Feldstein said to Vogue. “With a dash of luck and a push from the universe, they ended up being open to meeting a Jewish girl from Los Angeles.”
The two opted for a summer camp-themed wedding based on a mutual love obsession (Feldstein grew up going to various camps and her parents met at the locale). The Lady Bird actress wore a custom Gucci lace dress that she paired with her great-grandmother’s earrings.
“I created a mood board of sorts with different elements that spoke to me,” Feldstein explained. “I also included a photo of my mom’s wedding dress from 1975 because her dress featured a fabulous lace sleeve I knew I wanted to pay homage to.”
Kate Bosworth and Justin Long
Kate Bosworth and Justin Long tied the knot in an “impromptu” ceremony, according to sources. The actress, 40, and Long first met while on the set of House of Darkness in 2021 and sparked dating rumors around a year later.
In April, Long confirmed the couple’s engagement during an episode of his podcast Life Is Short With Justin Long. “It was a moment where it just felt so organic,” the actor said of the engagement. “It felt connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through, a real life change, and so it came out in a very organic way.”
Bosworth and Long were, reportedly, considering eloping but decided to have a small ceremony at the Rockaway Hotel in Queens, New York. On May 9th, Long confirmed on his podcast that the pair are married.
"I was there while I was like really falling in love with my now-wife and she came to visit—I had never been comfortable with set visits, I was never crazy about [them,]" he said. "I liked separating the relationship and the, I don’t know. But I loved having her there and we just had the most magical time."
Sofia Richie and Elliot Grange
Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge married in April at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France. Richie’s wardrobe was exclusively Chanel for the high-profile event which featured a star-studded guest list (Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, among others). It also marked the unofficial start of the “quiet luxury” debate which has taken over social media in recent months.
Richie and Grainge announced their engagement on Instagram a in April, 2022. Grainge is the founder of music label 10k Projects. His father Lucian Grainge is an executive at Universal Music Group and frequently collaborated with Lionel Richie.
According to Vogue, Richie visited the Chanel couture salon a few weeks prior to her wedding for a fitting. “Working with Chanel was not only an honor but a true dream of mine,” she said. “Having the opportunity to create this dress and work so closely with Madame Olivia Douchez, première of haute couture salons, and observing their art and immaculate attention to detail was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage
Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage’s speedy romance began in February and reached its pinnacle at a Kim Kardashian-officiated wedding in April. The celebrity hairstylist and actor ignited dating rumors after they vacationed in Mexico with Appleton confirming their relationship in March on The Drew Barrymore Show.
"I’m very happy," Appleton said. "Very much in love, and I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special. Love is a really special thing, and I think meeting someone you connect with is really, really special."
Confirmation of the couple’s engagement came in early April and a couple weeks later, they officially tied the knot in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to Kardashian (who is a longtime client and friend of Appleton) Shania Twain serenaded the new couple with a performance of her song “You’re Still the One.”
Marc Anthony and Nadia Ferreira
In January, Marc Anthony and Nadia Ferreira tied the knot at the Herzog & de Meuron-designed Pérez Art Museum in Miami, Florida. The lavish ceremony featured a star-studded guest list including David and Victoria Beckham, Salma Hayek, Maluma, Lin Manuel Miranda, and more.
The singer first met the 24-year-old and former Miss Universe Paraguay in Mexico City, Mexico in 2022. The pair later confirmed their relationship via Instagram and announced their engagement in May of last year.
Sia and Dan Bernard
Sia married Dan Bernard in an intimate ceremony in Portofino, Italy. The couple, who have kept a fairly low profile since they began dating, made their first public appearance in December 2021. They attended the Los Angeles premiere of West Side Story (though at the time, Bernard’s identity was unknown and it is unclear how long the two have been an item).
The event was held at Villa Olivetta, the home of designers Stefano Dolce and Domenico Gabbana. The locale was the exact spot where Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker tied the knot just a year prior.
