Gurgaon: Indian conference of intellectuals has awarded D Suresh IAS , Principal Resident Commissioner of Haryana Bhawan Delhi with ‘Great Son of India award’ for outstanding services , achievements and contribution for his efforts of bringing about transparency in Judicial appointments by campaigning for introduction of All India Judicial Services. The award was presented by Governor of Chhattisgarh Biswabhusan Harichandan at a conference organised at CD Deshmukh Auditorium in India International Centre, New Delhi.
The Conference was organised to launch the book “Battle Not Yet Over”, an autobiography of Biswabhusan Harichandan, Governor of Chhattisgarh, who wrote the book originally in Odia language. The book has been translated into English by Professor Dr Bhagaban Jayasigh, a noted poet and translator of Odisha, published by Pralek Prakashan, New Delhi.
In the conference, few eminent personalities were honoured with “The Great Son/Daughter of India” award for their outstanding contribution. D Suresh was one of them. Dr Justice V Gopala Gowda, former Chief Justice of Orissa and former judge Supreme Court of India, and also national president of ‘ Indian conference of intellectuals’ presided over the conference.
D Suresh, a 1995 batch IAS officer of Haryana Cadre, is making efforts to bring about transparency in Judicial appointments by campaigning for introduction of All India Judicial Services, on pattern of Indian Administrative Services (IAS).
Indian Conference of Intellectuals is an organisation headed by former Supreme Court Judge Gopala Gowda and has many retired judges of high courts, top bureaucrats, journalists etc as its office bearers and has been in the field of recognising good work towards national integration and nation building activity for the last nearly two decades.
