Former footy WAG Nadia Bartel has hit back at critics who have questioned why she is keeping her husband’s surname.
The model took to TikTok over the weekend to address the criticism and answer why she has kept her ex-husband Jimmy Bartel’s surname after the couple split four years ago.
“I cannot tell you how many times I get asked this question,” she said in the video.
“I don’t have to answer this question, obviously. But I’m just so sick of the question being thrown at me.
“And I’m trolled with it all the time. The fact of the matter is I want the same surname as my two small boys.
“I’m very traditional like that. I don’t see why I personally have to have a different name to my small children because my marriage ended.”
Bartel goes on to explain that her position may change as her boys get older.
“This may change in the future, obviously, when they get older I might feel differently about it,” she said.
“I’ve have had Bartel for such a period of time now and I just look at it as the last name of my two boys and I really don’t know why all of you care so much about it and why I still need to be trolled about it today, and it was four years ago when my marriage ended.”
The 38-year-old was praised by some of her 23,000 plus followers for the video.
One called her “stunning” and “brave”.
Another wrote: “Omg! No one else’s business! Sorry you have to put up with these people.”
