Logies shock: Underdog show Crazy Fun Park beats worldwide-popular Bluey

The 63rd TV Week Logie Awards took a controversial turn as beloved Bluey was pipped to the post by underdog Crazy Fun Park for the Most Outstanding Children’s Program.

The result surprised viewers and, even more so, Crazy Fun Park’s creators themselves.

“I’m really sorry, everyone. We’re up against Bluey. We really didn’t think we’d win,” said Crazy Fun Park creator Nicholas Verso.

Verso’s post on social media was flooded with congratulatory comments.

“Well deserved! Congratulations!” wrote one user.’

After the latest 10 Bluey episodes, which premiered in April, it continued to smash ratings and attracted the highest total audience achieved by any series to air in Australia.

It beat MAFS, LEGO Masters and State of Origin on Nine. It pulled in more viewers than the Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2021 after achieving a series average total audience of 11 million.

Figures released by ABC revealed more than 13.5 million hours of the new Bluey episodes were viewed, with the Cubby (12.7 million total audience), Relax (also 12.7 million) and Dragon (12.1 million) as the most popular.
