Johnny Ruffo and partner Tahnee Sims mark six years since actor’s cancer diagnosis

Johnny Ruffo and his partner Tahnee Sims have shared a health update, as the former Home and Away star continues his battle with brain cancer.

In a post shared by WA-born Ruffo and Sims on social media, they marked the six-year anniversary of Ruffo’s diagnosis in 2017.

Sims captioned the post: “Six years on from diagnosis 💜 what a fighter!!”

It was accompanied by a series of photos documenting the actor’s long battle.

Friends and fans were quick to offer their support. Former Home and Away co-star Lynne McGranger shared her love for the couple.

“Love you both. Always in my prayers. Pretty sure @sydneyswans will end up ahead of @essendonfc — so YOUR TURN FOR DINNER!! AGAIN,” she wrote.

Former SAS Australia star Anna Heinrich and The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies both commented with heart emojis.

The update comes a day after Ruffo paid tribute to his “amazing” girlfriend, praising her for her “incredible support” while he undergoes chemotherapy.

The finalist from The X-Factor Australia opened up during an interview on local radio station Youth Jam, describing his chemotherapy journey as “horrible”.

“At the moment (treatment is) every two weeks, which is pretty gruelling,” he said.

“And it makes you feel like death, like it’s horrid, it’s really horrible.”

The singer said he wouldn’t have been able to get through everything without the support of Sims.

“She’s remarkable. I can’t give her enough kudos for how amazing she’s been and how much I’ve been able to lean on her for support,” he said.
