Ted Lasso is dead. At least, that’s what Apple TV+ wants us to believe after ending the hit sitcom with season 3. Whether or not the show returns in some new form—i.e. without Jason Sudeikis—remains to be seen, but in the meantime, you can help keep the Lasso Way alive and well by honoring the Greyhounds with a Ted Lasso Halloween costume. It’s the least you could do.
Before you start worrying about your ability to pull of a mustache, know that Ted Lasso the character is far from your only costume option here. You can dress up as the grumpiest A.F.C. Richmond coach Roy Kent or “boss ass bitch” Rebecca Welton. And, if you’re looking for a recognizable group Halloween costume, there’s basically no better option. Not only is a soccer uniform immediately identifiable, it’s also made up mostly of things you might already have in your closet. All you need are some gym shorts, a blue shirt, knee-high socks, and sneakers.
Keep reading for some Ted Lasso Halloween costume ideas that are funny AF and so easy to execute. Bonus points if you commit to the bit and learn some inspirational Ted Lasso quotes to throw out randomly at trick-or-treaters.
Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, and Nate
This iconic trio loves themselves a branded track jacket, yellow whistles, visors, and sunglasses. Dress as one or go as all three in a sporty trio costume. (And remind everyone to “be a goldfish,” when you steal their Halloween candy.)
Jamie Tartt
Jamie Tartt is a lot of things: talented, cocky, sweet, and very, very stylish. At least he certainly thinks so. Warning: this costume requires a very specific brand of himbo energy to really come alive, so be ready.
Trent Crimm
Trent Crimm, no longer from The Independent, really found his style in season 3, thanks to his signature blazer and jeans look. Of course, his magnificent head of hair doesn’t hurt either.
Literally Any AFC Richmond Player
Football is life! Break out the high socks, jerseys, and soccer shorts to be one of these talented players come Oct. 31. You can even get personalized AFC Richmond jerseys or cosplay as your fave footballer.
Keeley Jones and Roy Kent
Pretend season 3 never happened with this cute couples costume! Or, if you must be faithful to the show, you can opt to go as one or the other. Keeley is known for her statement-making looks, like this ‘fit from season 1, while Roy always loves an all-black ensemble.
Rebecca Welton
This is one complicated character who’s both cold, yet someone you can really empathize with. The owner is known for her love of a chic blouse, perfectly swept hair, and having a strictly business attitude. Also, if you carry around a pink box of biscuits, that might really nail the look down.
