The Dallas Mavericks finalized their training camp roster Friday. The team announced the signing of Dexter Dennis, bringing their roster to 21 players.
Dennis, a 6-foot-5 guard, went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft. He last played for Texas A&M as a graduate transfer, where he started 34 games and averaged 9.5 points, a team-high 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 28.7 minutes per game.
Before joining the Aggies, Dennis played four years at Wichita State. He appeared in 112 games, including 94 starts, and averaged 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and one assist during his four seasons with the Shockers.
Dennis most recently played for the Orlando Magic during the NBA Summer League this past summer. He played in four games, starting three, and averaged nine points, three rebounds and one steal in 19 minutes for the Magic in Las Vegas.
Dennis will wear No. 38 with the Mavericks.
The Mavericks begin training camp on Wednesday, September 27. Dallas has two extra days of practice during training camp this year because the team will fly to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the NBA Global Games in Abu Dhabi in October.
NBA teams can carry up to 21 players during the offseason. Teams must cut that number to 15 before the start of the regular season. They can also have three players on two-way contracts during the season.
