Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff got the last laugh in a “spicy” moment with Ryan Fitzpatrick on “Thursday Night Football.”
Goff, who led his team to a dominant 34-20 win over the Packers at Lambeau Field, called out Fitzpatrick, who referred to him as “a poor man’s Matt Ryan” before the game.
“I thought I played better throughout the rest of the game,” Goff said during an interview on Prime’s postgame show. “I hope it’s up to your standards.
“I didn’t know it was a poor man’s anything, but, I heard that.”
That’s when the NFL on Prime crew starting laughing in their seats.
“Spicy!” Richard Sherman — the former NFL cornerback, who joined Amazon as an analyst in June 2022 — said while slapping the desk.
Fitzpatrick, a quarterback for 17 NFL seasons before joining Prime as an analyst, then called out former tackle, Andrew Whitworth.
“I didn’t do it!” Whitworth fired back. “It wasn’t me!”
However, it was all in fun.
“Matt Ryan is a pretty good player too,” Fitzpatrick said, to which Goff agreed.
“He’s a hell of a player,” Goff said. “I’m giving you a hard time, I appreciate it man.”
The conversation ended on a good note, with the group laughing together.
Ryan, a free agent and former MVP, struggled last season with the Colts, and was released by the team in March.
He joined CBS as an NFL analyst in May.
Meanwhile, Goff is playing well for the Lions, who are 3-1 on the season.
The Pro Bowl quarterback completed 19-of-28 passes for 210 yards with a touchdown, interception and passer rating of 86.9.
The Lions host the Panthers on Oct. 8.
