The No. 22 Florida Gators had a challenging game against the Kentucky Wildcats in an SEC match-up in Lexington, and unfortunately, there were some noteworthy moments that didn’t go well for the Gators.
Throughout the game, the Gators struggled to stop running back Ray Davis, especially on a play near their own goal line.
During first and goal, it became evident on television screens across the country that Florida had 13 defenders on the field, which is two more than allowed. However, even with the extra defenders, Davis still managed to score his fourth touchdown of the day.
With this loss, the Gators have now lost 15 of their last 17 away games.
This is the second season under head coach Billy Napier, who had a successful run at the University of Louisiana. However, he has faced challenges in rebuilding the underperforming Florida program.
There have been discussions in the college football world about whether Napier is on the hot seat after this game.
Despite their efforts, the Gators’ defense was unable to contain Davis, who rushed for 280 yards in the Wildcats’ game against the Gators.
Florida will face Vanderbilt in their next game.
