‘It’s not great for you’

Meghan McCain has no regrets about exiting “The View.”

The conservative pundit, 38, left the talk show in 2021 following frequent squabbles with co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.

In a new interview with The Messenger, McCain revealed why she no longer tunes in to the ABC gabfest, saying: “You know, it’s kind of like looking at an ex-boyfriend’s Instagram — it’s just not great for you.”

The outspoken mom-of-two added that she’s also busy with her new podcast, “Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat.”

“I don’t have time to watch this kind of content” she declared. “[But] I do listen to a lot of podcasts.”

However, McCain admits that she “still misses the wardrobe people” after working with them during her four years on the chat show.

The daughter of the late John McCain appeared on “The View” from 2017 until 2021.

After quitting, she was replaced by Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.

“I just love getting dressed up,” she gushed. “So I miss the wardrobe people the most, and they’re very kind. They have been the wardrobe people the entire history of the show.”

Since departing the series, McCain has routinely explained why she chose to drop the job from her résumé.

The columnist dished in her memoir, “Bad Republican” in 2021 that she believed that Goldberg and Behar had treated her horribly for having conservative views.

“You can’t imagine how it messes with your self-esteem working in an environment where the worst thing you can be in the world is a Republican during the Trump years,” McCain wrote.

The Arizona native continued: “As the country got worse under Trump, the treatment from Whoopi, Joy and some of the staff grew meaner and less forgiving.”

“It was as if I had become an avatar for everything they hated about the president,” she further wrote. “It felt like the co-hosts and staff only knew one Republican — me — and took out all their anger on me, even though I didn’t even vote for Trump.”
