Get an entire year’s worth of mobile service from Optus for just $240

Optus is well-known for being the happy medium telco; not too pricey and not too few perks.

Customers who sign up with the ‘Yes’ giant, gain great mobile coverage, discounted access to Optus Sport and, sometimes, discounts off their plans.

Check out its most heavily discounted plan below as we break down exactly how much you could be saving and exactly what’s on offer: For the first 365 days, Optus’ Flex Plus long-expiry plan is reduced from $320 per year to just $240 — that’s a saving of $80 and is equivalent of paying $20 per month for 21GB.

While it does mean you’ll be locked into the plan for a year, it comes with 260GB of data on the first three recharges and 180GB per month thereafter. If you don’t use all your data, Optus will roll over up to 200GB when you recharge before expiry or use its AutoRecharge feature.

You will also receive the usual perk of unlimited calls and texts to standard Australian numbers and access to Optus’ 4G and 5G network (in selected areas and on selected devices, with speeds capped at 150Mbps).

Plus any add-ons you may need can be attached to this prepaid plan via the MyOptus App, including $5 international roaming, extra credit and $5 Unlimited Data Day.

The only other caveat is international calls are not included in this plan.

Here’s how Optus’ deal compares to other 365-day expiry plans with at least 200GB:
