CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has implemented stringent measures to ensure the successful and fair conduct of the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the recruitment of 13,536 Group D posts in the state.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar presided over a high-level video conferencing meeting with divisional Commissioners, deputy commissioners, range IGs, and superintendents of police on Thursday to review the comprehensive preparations for the upcoming examination.
During the meeting, the CM issued firm directives to all officers, emphasizing that recruitment based on merit is the government’s primary objective. Therefore, it is imperative that the examination proceeds without any disruptions, and this responsibility falls on all of us.
The CET examination for Group D posts is scheduled for October 21 and 22 and will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). A total of 13,75,151 candidates have registered for this examination. The CET examination will be held at 798 examination centres across 17 districts of the state, including Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Kaithal, Hisar, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Palwal, Mewat, Narnaul, and Rewari, as well as Chandigarh. The examination will be conducted in two shifts, one in the morning and the other in the evening, from 10 am to 11:45 am and from 3 pm to 4:45 pm. Approximately 3.5 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the examination during each shift.
The Transport Department has made special transportation arrangements to ensure convenient travel to the examination centres on October 21 and 22. A sufficient number of buses will be available in all districts, utilizing 3000 buses of Haryana Roadways and buses from various educational institutions. Travel services will be extended to all candidates upon presentation of their admit cards.
Section 144 will be enforced within a 500-meter radius of the examination centres, and coaching centres and stationery shops selling printing materials will remain closed on the examination day. Thorough security arrangements will be in place at the examination centres, and no candidate will be permitted to carry a mobile phone. Parking facilities will not be available within 200 meters of the examination centres.
