Kaizer Chiefs return to action this evening when they host AmaZulu FC in the first round of the inaugural Carling Knockout Cup.
The Glamour Boys will be eyeing the newly formed tournament as the ideal opportunity to end their lengthy trophy drought.
Molefi Ntseki’s side were dumped out of the MTN8 cup at the semi-final stage in rather heartbreaking fashion but all focus now turns to the Knockout Cup.
Standing in their way is an AmaZulu side looking for revenge. Pablo Franco’s side were beaten 3-0 by the Amakhosi in their league fixture earlier in the season and Franco is out to restore some pride to the club this evening.

“I think we started this season with so much pressure, especially coming from the previous seasons, not only from last season.” Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki said as quoted by Sowetan ahead of Saturday’s fixture against AmaZulu.
“Yes, the pressure comes from yesterday, not necessarily today. But that’s because of the history of the club, the background of the club.
“But when you take this position, you have to know that there’ll be pressure and I welcome that.”
