Nigella Lawson and Martin Luther King Jr may seem like an unlikely combination to ignite the passion of Roberta Joy Rich’s artistic practice, but that is exactly what happened towards the end of the multi-disciplinary artist’s bachelor’s degree at Monash University.
“We had this exercise with the late Damiano Bertoli who asked us to put celebrity names in a hat, mixed with revolutionists, and I ended up pulling out Nigella Lawson and Martin Luther King,” Rich recounts.
