He was taken by North Melbourne with the coveted first pick in the 2021 draft, but endured a nightmare debut season.

He faced questions over his professionalism and was dropped for disobeying team orders when he refused to complete a full ice bath recovery program.

The ice bath fiasco has been constantly brought up in the media with Port Adelaide great turned pundit Kane Cornes often spruiking the #icebath hashtag on social media.

Ahead of Horne-Francis’ first clash against North Melbourne, a Queensland brewery attempted to break the ice by launching an #icebath lager.

The can features a cartoon picture of Horne-Francis in an ice bath as well as the quote, “just here for the booooooooooze.”

That tag line was referencing boos from opposition fans that came Horne-Francis’ way during a controversial first season at the Power.

The 20-year-old showed flashes of his immense talent with some eye-catching performance, but he was also subjected to crowd vitriol which infuriated his coach Ken Hinkley who told opposition supporters to back off during a press conference.

Now Boak has jumped on the bandwagon with a cheeky photo from their off-season training regime.

Boak has been training at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre in Salzburg, Austria, along with Melbourne superstar Christian Petracca.

But he recently started training with Horne-Francis, with Boak posting two photos on social media, including one of the youngster in an ice bath.

“Loves an ice bath,” Boak wrote about the young gun.

Horne-Francis finished the year with an impressive 16 votes in the Brownlow Medal, but again found himself in the headlines for being judged best on ground against Geelong in Round 14, despite collecting just 13 disposals.

Boak found himself relegated to substitute duties at times during the year with questions surrounding his future.

But the 35-year-old, who has played a club record 348 games, signed a one-year extension to continue his career into an 18th season.
