Nicolas Cage spotted on set of The Surfer in Yallingup in the South West

Yallingup’s newest resident Nicolas Cage has been spotted on the sand and in the waves as filming continues for The Surfer.

The Leaving Las Vegas star was seen running along the beach looking worse for wear in a pale yellow button up and grey pants, spattered with blood and grime as he brandished a wooden sign as a weapon in a scene where he fights a surfer.

Crew members ran alongside the Academy Award-winning actor as they shot the scene in Yallingup for the upcoming psychological thriller.

Cage was also seen in the whitewash alongside his stunt double, both drenched and appearing bloodied and bruised, as they filmed at the local beach.

The Surfer follows Cage’s character returning to his Australian beachside hometown after building a life in the US.

But he goes on to be humiliated in front of his teenage son by a local gang of surfers, played by Margaret River locals, who claim strict ownership over the secluded beach of his childhood.
