Pro-Palestine protesters clash with police in Cape Town

Police have clashed with Pro-Palestine supports at Sea Point Promenade in Cape Town.

In viral videos, water canons can be seen being used by law enforcement to disperse the Palestinian supporters as pro-Israeli supporters were expected to hold a protest in the same area.

PRO-ISRAEL PRAYER CANCELLED

A prayer session by Christians in support of Israel was meant to take place but was cancelled.

The church was expected to pray for peace in the middle east as well as the safe return of those kidnapped by Hamas.

Speaking to the SABC, National Director of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, Vivienne Myburgh says its disheartening to see the South African government siding with Hamas, whereas the western world is condemning the terrorist organisation.

250 000 MARCH IN CAPE TOWN

The pro-Israeli march comes a day after around 250 000 pro-palestine supporters including ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula.

Mbalula called on government to continue adding pressure on the isolation of Israel and the removal of its ambassador to South Africa.

The secretary general has added that they will not rest until Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is arrested.
