Stuart Hogg ‘refused to leave’ family home forcing wife Gillian & kids to move out before going public with new lover

RUGBY ace Stuart Hogg reportedly refused to leave his family home forcing his pregnant wife to move out before going public with his “sexiest jockey” girlfriend.

We revealed how the ex-Scotland captain appeared in a snap with former jockey Leonna Mayor – days after his wife gave birth to their fourth child.

Phoebe Anne was born on November 7 and her mum broke the news of the arrival on Instagram on Sunday.

Hours later Hogg’s new romance was confirmed in a photo showing him and swimsuit-clad Leonna at Moddershall Oak Country Spa Retreat, in Stoke-on-Trent.

In July, Hogg stunned fans by quitting rugby — claiming he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Pals revealed Gillian hoped her hubby’s retirement would have a positive effect on their seven-year marriage as the couple moved back to the Borders – but it had the opposite effect.

And friends claimed the rugby legend refused to move out of the family home in Hawick leaving pregnant Gillian with no choice but to take the kids to live with her parents.

A friend added: “She is heartbroken at a vulnerable time, with a new baby and three other kids.

“She supported him through his career, moving away from those she loved and knew.

“But as soon as they moved back to their hometown, everything came to a head.

“His refusal to leave the family home has meant a huge upheaval for her and the kids but she just couldn’t stay there any longer.”

Since their split, Gillian and Hogg have both deleted the labels ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ from their profiles and recent photos posted to Instagram shows the ex-rugby ace without a wedding ring.

Hogg and Gillian got married in 2016 at the 16th century Barony Castle in Peeblesshire.

The wedding was featured in celeb magazine OK! with their tartan-clad eldest son appearing in the pics.

Their ceremony included the poem These Hands, which included the line: “These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.”

Speaking at the time, Hogg said: “I put my family first so my wedding and the birth of my son will always be my proudest moments.”

Hogg’s retirement came after disciplinary issues which saw him stripped of the Scottish captaincy last year.

In March 2022, he was one of six players probed for breaching team protocols following a Six Nations match against Italy.

The players went AWOL by visiting an Edinburgh bar without the permission of management.

At the time of his retirement, Hogg told TNT Sports: “It will be strange [not to play at the World Cup], it will be different, but I’ve made this call to retire because I want what’s best for me and what’s best for my family, and I believe I’ve made the right decision.”

He added: “I got to the stage in my rugby career that I was missing my kids growing up.

“When my son, who is seven, turns up to me, and I come home from training, and he’s like: ‘Dad, do you want to go outside and play football?’ And I’m like: ‘mate, I can’t. I genuinely can’t, like I’m absolutely beat’.

“His little face, and he’s out in the rain… I sit there and I watch him, and he’s on his own, and I’m like: ‘this is absolutely breaking me’. I want to be there for my kids.”
