Nine days ago Perth-born star Johnny Ruffo lost his inspirational fight against brain cancer. Today, his longtime partner Tahnee Sims broke her silence and shared a tribute to her ‘forever love’ in an emotional social media post.
“A forever love,” the post read and was shared to Sims’ Instagram on Sunday.
The video revealed a compilation of happier times for the couple, involving swimming in pools, walking along the beach and running around in the snow.
The song Always Remember Us This Way by Michelle Ray played over the cheerful clips revealing their beautiful love story.
The comment section flooded with heartfelt condolences from friends and fans.
“Life is cruel, can’t imagine how tough this is for you. What a beautiful couple,” one person wrote.
“Definition of soul mates,” a second person said.
A third added: “Thinking of you. It’s so sad he was a lucky guy to have you by his side. He kept fighting for you.”
Australian influencer Tahlia Skaines wrote “sending so so much love babe, thinking of you”.
Ruffo sadly passed away at just 35 years old after his long fight with brain cancer. He was diagnosed in 2017 and had undergone surgery to remove a tumour. Two years later, he revealed his cancer was in remission.
In 2020, he shared the tragic news his brain cancer had returned.
The couple first met at a dance studio in 2015 and forged an unbreakable bond as Ruffo soon took on his intense health battle.
The singer was dubbed a “charismatic performer” by the Seven Network in a touching statement after his death.
“The passing of Johnny Ruffo deeply saddens Seven. The talented and charismatic performer was born to entertain and brought joy to the lives of so many on and off the screen,” the statement read.
