Ron Herman will close its Melrose Avenue store in December

Founded in 1976, initially as a specialty boutique inside Fred Segal, Ron Herman became known as the go-to place for iconic brands and emerging designers. The two-story, 14,000-square-foot Melrose flagship store brought together prestigious brands such as Missoni, Lemaire, Acne Studios, Isabel Marrant, Stüssy, Phipps, Officine Générale, Coperni and Dries Van Noten. In addition to a shoe selection, the store recently opened a vintage section.

No information has yet been released on the closure of other stores. Founded in 1972, Ron Herman parent Sazaby League, a Japanese distributor that took over all Ron Herman operations in 2019 continues to manage the brand’s distribution and operates an extensive portfolio of retail, fashion and hospitality brands.

To date, the Ron Herman boutique in Waikiki, inside the Moana Surfrider Westin Resort & Spa, and 20 other boutiques in Japan remain open.
