Rapper Snoop Dogg fools fans into thinking he’s stopped smoking cannabis in ad for smokeless stove

Wherever Snoop Dogg goes, ganja smoke follows — but the rapper had fans thinking he’d turned over a new leaf when he announced he was “giving up smoke”.

It had the rapper’s hardcore fans questioning whether he he had a major health issue or had, after all these years in the spotlight, given up his favourite pastime.

The star promised he was “done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky-icky”.

However, fans need not have worried with the singer’s carefully worded announcement on Friday being a well-planned attention-grabbing teaser.

Snoop’s “I’ve given up smoke” was all a marketing ploy for the smokeless stove Solo Stove.

“Bro had the worlds stoners questioning their life choices for this ad,” one fan posted on social media.

Another said: “I knew that wording was strange! ‘Smoke’ not ‘smoking’ lol! Nice!”

A third added: “The most clever marketing done in a hot minute!”

And a fourth posted: “Haha of course it was a commercial.”

Snoop’s life-long love affair with marijuana is legendary, with the rapper smoking the drug since he was introduced to it by his uncles when he was aged less than 10.

Not surprisingly, there was a strong whiff of cannabis in the air when the star performed at RAC Arena in Perth in February.
