Best Black Friday deals 2023: Best Picks editor shares the seven sale items she’ll be picking up during Black Friday 2023

If I had a dollar for every friend that has messaged me this week asking for advice on wading through the insane amount of Black Friday sales, I’d be a rich woman.

Never before has Black Friday taken such a chokehold on the market, with Aussie shoppers predicted to spend a staggering $6.36 billion across the four-day Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend (November 24 – 27).

I’ve had my eye on a few things in the lead-up to Black Friday, and will be using this weekend as the perfect opportunity to snap them up.

Below, my list of the seven Black Friday items I’m buying this year.

From a Christmas present for my toddler daughter to X, there’s plenty of inspiration if you’re feeling lost in a sea of Black Friday texts and emails.

1. Evo 3.0 Learning Tower: reduced from $184.95 to $166.96 – The Memo

Top of my Black Friday shopping list is at least one Christmas present for my ever inquisitive toddler daughter, Florence.

Flo is getting increasingly frustrated by not being able to see what’s going on at the benchtops in the kitchen when we’re preparing lunches and dinners.

So I think this learning tower will make a perfect gift for her, allowing her to be part of the action.

The Memo is a fabulous destination for parents and parents-to-be alike looking for something unique for babies, kids and mums and dads.

For Black Friday, the site is doing a “spend and save” offer – where you can save 10 per cent if you spend over $150 or 15 per cent if you spend over $300.

I’ll put this stylish learning tower in our kitchen and do some festive baking with Flo when the holidays (finally) crawl around.

2. Dyson V15S Detect Submarine: reduced from $1,549 to $994 – Dyson

Look. If I’m buying a learning tower and expecting a toddler to start helping me out in the kitchen, I’m going to need a vacuum upgrade.

And I’ve been hanging out all year to trade up my Dyson.

Step forward the Dyson V15S Detect Submarine, reduced from $1,549 to $994 on the Dyson website – a staggering $555 saving.

Not only does this impressive stick vac do the business with ultimate suction, but it also mops your hard wooden floors — removing stains, spills and stray pieces of food from the kids.

I have a feeling this could be my biggest and best investment this Black Friday, and if the reviews are anything to go by, I won’t be disappointed.

“Extremely happy with my Dyson. Powerful, long lasting battery and the hard floor cleaner is a breeze to use,” one shopper wrote.

Expensive, but fantastic,” another added. I’m convinced.

I am finally going to invest in an air fryer. Credit: Instagram

3. Philips Premium Air Fryer XXL with Smart Sensing Technology: reduced from $599 to $379 – Amazon

Bear with me here. I know I’m about three years late to this trend, but I think the end of 2023 is when I finally invest in an air fryer.

Having heard enough about how they make cooking and eating so much quicker and easier, I am finally ready to succumb and invest.

And, after doing the research over the past few weeks, I’m strongly convinced that this Philips option is the best.

Unlike many other air fryers, this one is one of the only products to automatically adjust the time and temperature during cooking to ensure you always have perfectly cooked dishes.

There are hundreds of recipes featured in the companion app, and it’s claimed the device will cook your meals 1.5 times faster than an oven.

With 37 per cent off on Amazon, it’s about the best price we’re ever going to see it. Run, don’t walk.

4. Charlotte Tilbury The Beautyverse Palette: reduced from $120 to $90, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray: reduced from $54 to $40.50 – Charlotte Tilbury

Onto the fun things.

This Charlotte Tilbury Beautyverse Eyeshadow Palette is nothing short of gorgeous.

Having spied it in the flesh at Charlotte’s recent holiday party, I can confirm it is no less stunning in person.

With nine different highly-pigmented eyeshadows in a series of flattering neutrals and eye-popping golds, pinks, lilacs and silver, there’s a shadow for every day of the week – whether you want a matte or metallic finish.

As a limited edition buy, you will have to be quick in buying this one if it speaks to you.

I’ll be completing my Charlotte Tilbury order with a new Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray – which is the absolute GOAT in keeping your makeup in place all day.

The Black Friday offer at Charlotte Tilbury will see you get 20 per cent off with the code MAGIC20, or 25 per cent if you spend over $150 with the code MAGIC25.

For a staggering 30 per cent off orders over $210, simply type MAGIC30 at the checkout.

5. Marc Jacobs The Jacquard Small Tote Bag: reduced from $570 to $470 – THE ICONIC

I’ve had my eye on this viral tote bag for a long time, and am thinking now is finally the right time to invest.

I like a bag that’s both practical and stylish, and one that I feel that I can wear anywhere — whether I’m going to a glamorous event after work or just heading down to the park on a Saturday morning with my daughter.

It is difficult to remember a time when the tote bag was not a key part of our wardrobes, but the good news is they are going nowhere for 2024.

THE ICONIC has slashed the price of a number of the top Marc Jacobs styles this Black Friday.

This isn’t a deal you want to sleep on.

6. St Agni Cut-Out Midi Dress in Black: reduced from $479 to $335.30 – St Agni

St Agni is the destination for clean lines, sustainable fabrics and buttery soft leather shoes.

And this incredible cut-out black midi dress is no exception.

With a demure front, perfect fit and cut-out back, it’s the perfect blend of classic and fashion-forward.

Even better, it’s got more than $100 off it in the site’s Black Friday sale.

For the entire Cyber weekend, St Agni is offering 30 per cent off hundreds of its best-selling pieces.

If you’re looking to take your workwear up a notch in 2024, I recommend it as the best place to start.

7. Garmin Fenix 7S Solar Rose Gold with Light Sand Multi Sport Watch: reduced from $1,349 to $849 – Myer

I’ve been waiting to put a new Garmin on my Christmas list until they all go on sale.

And this Garmin Fenix 7S is my pick of the bunch.

Not only does it look the part with rose gold finishes, but it is also one of the best multi-sport watches on the market right now.

For data addicts like me, I love that you can monitor your health 24/7 by looking at your heart rate, respiration, stress levels, sleep and more.

The watch can also help you with GPS and outdoor navigation sensors, if you like running off the beaten track and heading out to the trails.

The bad news is this deal is a one-day-only offer from Myer, so if you want to save $500, buy this watch now.
