Today’s Wordle #891 Hints, Clues And Answer For Monday, November 27th

Fresh off of Black Friday, Blitzkrieg Saturday and Sonorous Sunday, it’s Cyber Monday! Huzzah! It all sort of starts blurring together into one long Extra Super Amazing Fantabulous Month Of Deals as far as I can tell. There’s pre-Black Friday and then pre-Cyber Monday and probably some sort of Terrific Tuesday sale after that. Who can keep up? Certainly not I!

In any case, there’s a great deal to get done. I’ve been wildly productive lately but my To Do list remains endless. I chip away and it chips back!

This is the last Monday of November. Friday will be a brand new month. Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat. Please put a penny in the old man’s hat.

And let’s do this Wordle while we’re at it…

How To Solve Today’s Word

The Hint: Everybody wants to be a cat.

Wordle Bot Analysis

After each Wordle I solve I head over to the Wordle Bot homepage to see how my guessing game was.

What a peculiar word. I suppose cat people are used to it, but for the rest of us it feels rather antiquated. It’s a great word, though! Sort of like mangy, though I suppose a cat could be both mangy and tawny.

Can you solve today’s phrase?

My guessing game was fine, I suppose. Crazy was fairly lucky (I thought of it because I was thinking about the villain from Far Cry 3 since I was writing a post about the Far Cry series) and got the ‘Y’ in green and the ‘A’ in yellow. But in retrospect, hoist wasn’t a great second guess. Having already gotten ‘A’ and ‘Y’ I suppose there aren’t many words left that would make use of ‘O’ or ‘I’.

Oh well. Tangy did the trick, narrowing down my options to just one, which I came up with soon enough. Huzzah for tawny kitties!

Today’s Competitive Wordle Score

A wash today. Zero points for guessing in 4 and zero for tying the Wordle Bot. Zeroes all around!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word “tawny” is an adjective that is typically used to describe something that has a light to medium brownish-yellow or tan color, often with a hint of orange or gold. It is often used to describe the color of certain animals’ fur or feathers, such as a tawny owl or a tawny lion. It can also be used more broadly to describe the color of other objects or substances that have a similar brownish-yellow or tan hue.
