Australian award-winning performer G Flip has turned it on ahead of the AFLW grand final, wowing fans with an electrifying act at Ikon Park on Sunday.
While it may have felt like a tough task to impress ‘the people’ after the massive KISS production in the AFL grand final just two months ago, the pocket-rocket popstar and self-confessed AFL fan did plenty to fire up the crowd.

G Flip stunned fans with an eyebrow-raising opener, flanked by AFLW players Sabrina Frederick and Jesse Wardlaw.
The Collingwood and St Kilda stars banged along on the drums in a thumping start to the show that set the tone for an explosive pre-game set.
So good was the performance, fans were tuning in from around the world.
“G Flip, you have a new fan in Canada! Watching you now … Luved it!” one fan trumpeted on social media.
“Really enjoyed G Flip – they killed it,” another fan said.
While another wrote: “Anyway G Flip rocked the AFLW grand final and should be the only performer at any AFL event from now until I say so xxxxx.”
And another: “I don’t know why the AFL don’t get G Flip at the men’s AFL grand final … they’re forever killing it at AFLW women’s events, today’s #AFLWGF is no different.
But not all fans were on board, however.
“You have Vera Blue there but G Flip was the entertainment? Disappointing,” one fan wrote.
Vera Blue performed the national anthem while G Flip — a two-time ARIA award winner — was the main act and punched out a handful of her best hits.
“How does G Flip get a gig honestly ….” another fan in the ‘no corner’ wrote.
But in this day age where it is easy to be an armchair critic, G Flip widely won over the masses.
“How good does (G Flip) sound … Love seeing Aussie acts on GF day,” another fan wrote.
While another succinctly summed it up: “The vibe of the AFLW GF looks incredible. G Flip absolutely smashing it.”
