Ex-pat Perth family shattered by alleged dognapping in lead up to Christmas reunion

An ex-pat Perth family has been left shattered by an alleged dog-napping after their two-year-old French Bulldog was stolen from a relative’s home.

Sam Thompson, who has moved with his family to Singapore, had left their dog, Bruno, with his sister in Coolbellup, before a planned reunion flight from Perth just after Christmas.

But on Tuesday morning, Bruno went missing from outside the home, with his sister reporting footprints and scratch marks on the fence.

Mr Thompson said the alleged dog-napping of the sought-after breed had left his children beside themselves.

“He was being dog-sat by my sister, and she’s just popped inside to take a shower. She left him outside and shut the door because she’s got a young child,” Mr Thompson said.

“She returned 10 minutes later, and he’s gone. It’s shattering. In the lead-up to Christmas and already being away from home. It’s tough.

“We have just been in limbo, waiting for the flights to come through and he was coming up just after Christmas.”

Any information about the whereabouts of Bruno can be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au
