Rajasthan Board Announces Winter Vacations For Schools
As mentioned earlier, winter vacations for schools in Rajasthan has been announced by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE). In a post on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), the Board has tweeted, “Winter vacation will start from 25th December!!”

Schools Closed In Bhimtal Area, Nainital
Schools in the Bhimtal area, where there have been leopard attacks and fatalities, have been closed. Affecting villages include Pandey, Jangaliya, Shimala, Bana Pinro, Alchona, Dudli, Devnagar and Tada; schools in the above-mentioned villages and the villages in adjoining areas will remain closed till further notice. Classes will resume only after the situation is under control.
The cause for shutting down schools are the leopard attacks that have caused the death of two ladies in three days. On Saturday, Pushpa Devi (38), was attacked by a leopard while she was cutting fodder near her house at the Pinro gram panchayat and lost her life. The villagers are upset and refuse to proceed with the funeral until the leopard is dealt with. Two days ago, Indra Devi, another woman was killed in a leopard attack n Maluvatal village in the Bhimtal Block.
Chandra Sekhar Joshi, DFO has assured that the department is doing all that it can, to deal with the leopard; he further said, “More teams have been deployed in addition to the foresters patrolling the area.” Area Panchayat Chief Dr Harish Singh Bisht has also voiced the concern and has demanded action and issuing of orders to immediately kill the leopard.
