Margot Robbie as Barbie

Get ready to paint your home pink! Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster film Barbie is now streaming exclusively on Max. Here’s everything you need to know about watching Barbie from the comfort of your own Dreamhouse (or Mojo Dojo Casa House).
Directed by Gerwig and co-written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, Barbie stars Margot Robbie as Stereotypical Barbie, the most popular Barbie in Barbieland. When she starts having irrepressible thoughts of death (and cellulite), she travels to the human world to discover her true purpose in life. Meanwhile, Ryan Gosling plays her almost-boyfriend Ken, who is on a quest to find himself (but not without temporarily turning Barbieland into his personal bachelor pad).
Barbie officially hit theaters in July 2023, and moviegoers flocked to see the female-led comedy in extraordinary numbers — all while wearing hues of pink in honor of Mattel’s beloved (and controversial) doll. The opening weekend was the highest-grossing debut for a female director at the domestic box office.
If you want to see even more of Barbie, you’re in luck! Max is now debuting an ASL version and bonus footage, including cast interviews, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, and more. Here’s how to watch the billion-dollar movie below.

After more than a month in cinemas, Barbie became the world’s highest-grossing movie in 2023. It also surpassed Marvel’s The Avengers to become the 11th top-earning film of all time in terms of domestic sales. Barbie also holds the records for Warner Bros.’ highest-grossing domestic release and the biggest domestic opening ever for a non-superhero film or sequel.
Barbie recently topped this year’s Golden Globe nominations with nine nods. The film is up for categories including Best Picture (comedy or musical), Screenplay, Director, Best Actress for Robbie, Supporting Actor for Gosling, and more. Gerwig also captured her first best director nomination for Barbie after being snubbed for Little Women (2019) and Lady Bird (2017).
