New bushfire warnings in Pinjarra, Manjimup as fireys continue clean up from seven emergencies in past week

A Christmas Eve bushfire warning has been issued in Pinjarra and Manjimup as firefighters continue to tackle conditions across WA.

As Perth temperatures climb to an expected maximum of 36 degrees, the new advice warning for people in an area bound by Moores Road, Sutton Street, Country Road, Beacham Road, Cobb and Co Road and Paperpark Place in Pinjarra.

DFES warns the fire, which is burning behind the Pinjarra Caravan Park and moving in a south-easterly direction, has no current threat to lives or homes, but there is a lot of smoke in the area.

In an update, DFES widened the alert area due to forecast wind conditions to include properties on the west side of Phillips Road, and blocks on the north-eastern side of Pinjarra Road.

Caravan park caretaker Katri Orn said the fire started very quickly after 10am this morning and had already come dangerously close to the fully booked venue.

Ms Orn said neighbours had evacuated their horses, and water bombers were tackling the fire from the air.
