Grading the Jets’ 37-20 loss to the Browns on Thursday.
Offense
The Jets actually moved the ball on Thursday night but only scored one touchdown, and that came on their opening drive. RB Breece Hall (13 rushes, 84 yards, 9 receptions, 42 yards, 1 TD) had another strong game and scored the Jets’ only touchdown.
WR Garrett Wilson (5 catches, 50 yards) was bottled up for most of the game.
QB Trevor Siemian (32 of 45, 261 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 83.7 QB rating) played OK other than the pick-six.
Grade: C+
Defense
What happened to this proud unit?
The Browns rolled over them in the first half and put the game out of reach by halftime.
QB Joe Flacco (19 of 29, 309 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 121.2 rating) showed the Jets what they missed out on by not signing him this season.
TE David Njoku (6 catches, 134 yards) tore up the Jets in the first quarter.
The Jets were sloppy in coverage and tackling.
Grade: F
Special Teams
Israel Abanikanda fumbled a kickoff, and the Jets had a blocked field goal and got a delay of game penalty on that field-goal attempt.
Kicker Greg Zuerlein made two field goals, but it was not a great night for this unit.
Even punter Thomas Morstead had a bad punt.
Grade: D
Coaching
The Jets had 12 penalties, continuing their trend of being an undisciplined team.
The defense looked like it was sleepwalking in the first quarter.
Robert Saleh did not have his team ready to play.
Jeff Ulbrich had no answers for Flacco. Nathaniel Hackett had a nice first drive, and then the offense returned to form.
