Swallows chairperson David Mogashoa, speaking to iDiski Times, hinted at ongoing discussions between Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu concerning the two players, who are on loan to the Dube Birds, potentially leaving Swallows in the lurch as the season resumes after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Responding to the question, Martin deftly remarked, “You are asking the question in a very clever way.”

He continued, “We are interested in any single player in any position who can improve the team.”

Martin, not one to reveal names, emphasized the club’s broader strategy, stating, “If there are opportunities, not only in that team [Swallows] but in the rest of the teams because we already know the league. Right now, we need to do our work and to check overseas for options for foreign players.”

The turbulence at Moroka Swallows was highlighted as they cancelled two DStv Premiership matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows due to unpaid player salaries in late December 2023.

Players, insisting on timely payments, downed tools, leading to the league’s intervention.

Points from these cancelled matches are likely to be awarded to Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows, accompanied by potential fines.

Prior to any fine or docking of league points, Swallows find themselves in 11th place in the standings.
